Default Who makes a cheap, quality handguard?

I'm a little lost on who makes affordable but good quality handguards these days. Been awhile since I kept track of who does what in that dept. Not looking for anything fancy, stylish or ultra light, just functional and sturdy. Ideally under $100...closer to $50-75 is better yet. M LOK of course.

Seeing Guntec, Ghost, Foxtrot Mike and a few others come up. Are they any good? I assume Aero is quality too, though closer to the top end of my budget.

I*m assuming you want free float. What length would be looking for?

Yeah sorry, definitely free float. Mid length system, but flexible on HG length. 12-15" probably? I seem to remember 12" being about the shortest to fully cover the gas block on a middy, IIRC.

$85 in the cart for a 13* UTG Pro Mlok. I*ve used several of these and actually like them. I*d def take this over Guntec or some other cheap options.

If MLOK wasn*t a must, this is an older modular rail that comes with rail sections.

    $75 in the cart

I do really like the Aero Atlas rails. Quality for sure! I see people complain about issues with the Ghost ones, which is why I*ve avoid them for even budget blasters.

Thanks! I had no idea UTG was good to go. Guess this is bad, but I actually thought they were more of an airsoft / hobbyist brand!

Interesting what you say on Ghost. I saw they deal down pretty good on sale, but wasnt sure on quality/dont know the brand

    I would avoid Guntec.

There are tons of reasonably priced handguards out there now.
Aero ATLAS is awesome (I have) but a bit pricey. You do get what you pay for in this instance though.

JoeBob always has these Matrix units priced right.
Can't speak to the quality, but for the price, it's hard to beat.

I found the exact same one I got from them on Ebay for about $25. LOL

That said, even the cheapest Chinese handguards are a lot nicer than people would think.

Those matrix ones might actually fit the bill. Thanks! Have to look into a bit more

Funny thing is I have been down the CA path already, and the ones I has were actually OK (but also just OK). Were cheap but worked. Finish was 'meh'.

That one looks like a step up though from the ones I had. Almost has an Aero vibe to it.

They definitely used to be and still sell some crappier products. The *Pro* line is the only thing I*d stick with it. The install is nice and easy too.

S&W originally used the UTG free float pro quad rails on the original M&P15 Tactical.
