380 Auto ammo cost (?!?)

Wow! I started looking around the other day at 380 Auto, even in just plain Jane FMJ rounds.

50 round box is 32 bucks???

Seems like double what it should be*plus some.

The reason I didn*t already have a bunch of it is because I never had anything in 380 Auto before; I inherited one just a few days ago. It*s a Glock 42.

Is that typical these days?

Yeah, 380 is high compared to 9mms but it generally runs in line with 38 special.
You'll enjoy the G42. The 42 shoots more like a larger gun than it does a micro 380. I know 380 isn't an ideal self defense round but a good Buffalo Bore or Underwood + P fired from a 42 with a 3.25" barrel actually has better ballistics than a 38 special from a snub nose.
