The last one I went to the 2 cops on duty needed a smile or something because they sure didn't look happy with their assignment. I guess I'd be less than thrilled with folks taking out loaded weapons and unloading them LOL!

Some of them are decent guys, but you wouldnt believe the amount of times I've seen them muzzle sweep the crowd or other officers while attempting to unload and secure an unfamiliar firearm.

The cop zip-tying at Oaks a few years ago told me that you don't have to wait in line if you are carrying: just walk right to the gun desk. My notifying depends on if there is a line. I don't remember showing a LTCF.

I would never disarm at a show - there's people with guns there!

If I needed to draw my gun in a store or at a show, I'd unload in the car. That way, there's no risk to anyone but me.

I go to Washington where if you don't have a loaded gun on your hip we look at you funny.

Zip ties are to keep the price tag on. Not to be used as a action deterrent.

We are a loaded gun sanctuary gun show.

I recall looking at a S&W 17 zip-tied through a chamber. Guy refused to remove the tie. With no way of examining it for timing, axial play, et cetera, I moved on. I wonder if and how he ever sold it.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Some show promoters actually require that display guns be zip-tied. Some shops do it too. Anyone intending harm could have ammo in their pocket , ask to see a gun on display , and load up when it's handed over. It has happened.

That's fine for a new gun. But used? I'll pass.

I know it's happened. I walked a beat on lower Germantown Avenue (Philly) where there was a gunsmith/retail shop. I bought a muzzle brake for my Ruger Mark I target pistol from him. He told me of a young man (ahem) who admired it as a "silencer". Then asked to look at a pistol. Next thing Mr. Ruhe noticed was the young man (ahem) was loading it with ammo from his pocket. He gave some silly excuse (now at Ruhe's gunpoint) that he just wanted to see if they fit. The young man (ahem) bounded from the premises.
