Spotted an open carrier in Franklin, PA

Last Friday, August 6, I was going into the Sheetz in Franklin around 9:45AM and walked in at the same time as a young man (early to mid 20s?) open carrying a stainless 1911 in a Serpa holster.

Was that anyone here?

F that noise, I've been carrying my Springfield XD9 in a Serpa CQC for about 10 years. It's still my favorite holster.

While the Serpa holsters may have a reputation.
It is kinda pathetic how people who do not like Serpa holsters; are quick to point out the original of this video.
But never point out the follow up video in which he admits the ND was caused by himself and not the holster.

Wrong. IMHO, the holster's design is flawed and Tex's follow-up video proves it.

To deactivate the lock, you push the release button with your trigger finger. Do it right and your finger lands on the frame. Do it wrong and your finger pops onto the trigger. If you pull up on the gun BEFORE you press the button, the button locks up. The natural tendency then is to push harder with the tip of your finger, and when the gun DOES come out, your finger is primed to slam against the trigger.

Listen to his video. That's exactly what he says he did. Look at the slow-motion. His finger lands on the trigger, not on the frame.

The common comeback from SERPA owners is "It's a training issue! That won't happen to me, because I train!" Then listen to Tex say "I'm a safe gun owner, I've done that draw stroke thousands of times with no problem."

The design is fundamentally unsafe. It's a design that makes the gun go bang if not used correctly. We don't need more ways to make our guns go bang.

You just proved my point about this particular ND.
He clearly states in this follow up video: "This is not something I blame on the holster. I blame it on me."
