I have no problem with open carry. I just don't want the hassle of dealing with people who are against it, or carrying in general, so I choose not to. I would like to see it normalized, but it's not a mountain I want to die on, either

There are a LOT of OC / CC arguments on POOFA already. You projected your thoughts about the open carrier based only on his appearance, didn't you?

I'm just curious as to what automatic he was carrying. Maybe Mac10 or an Uzi?

It's a horrible design. Period, end of story, debate ended years ago. Burn them, cut them up, but don't use them as holsters.
They work very well for 1911s.

Or any other gun that isn*t so poorly designed it doesn*t have a safety. In fact, there are a couple *newer*, *better*, *safer* holsters that are more poorly designed, and have the release right next to the location of the safety on most guns.

I was at the range one day and a couple cops (Rent a cop for sure)showed up. They asked what I was shooting and I said ".45 Automatic". I started to get a class on "Automatic" and "Semi-automatic". I held up the ammunition box on which was printed "ACP" and ".45 Automatic". I owned a MAC 11 open bolt auto and think I know the difference.

I'm going to go with the last sentence in the first post. OC v CC is one of the great dividers amongst the pewpewers.

Here is what Gunplummer wrote: "I am a little leery of people that just have to let you know they have a gun on them."
He tell us he ASSumed the guy's motivation.

I OC much of the time, because it is more convenient that CC.
I used to CC only, then I got tired of it.
I don't care if you know I have a gun or not.
It is useful to help educate people that guns are normal and useful tools and should be tolerated and embraced as such, but that ain't my motivation.

Fact - Gunplummer saw a guy with a gun OC.
Assumption - the person with the gun is an attention whore.

    I object to the assumption.
