I chalk it up to just being more political noise:

So for whatever reason the Mexican political powers feel that by blaming the US they can redirect the genuine rage and angish of their own failed system to address the drug cartels and spiralling power vacum that has allowed them to make the legitimate government impotent.

As for the lawsuits. Filed in New York State correct? The state where the now soon to be impeached governer issued an illegal executive order to allow the liberal SJW intrests to pursue meaningless litigation over an event now nearly a decade ago.

So once again we have a smoke and mirrors move by a cynical politician to divert attention to the real story of misuse of power and authority.

Let the Mexicans waste their time and effort trying to sqeeze tears from El Norte, the real story here is the one watching the Democratic Machine in NY state eat one of its children. Political theater at its finest.
