    Is yours comfortable?
I'm used to wearing it just behind the hip but most of my riding is done in the upright position on a tourist style bike. You can make it as tight as you want and it doesn't slip around but riding road bike style in the aero position probably isn't the best for wearing behind the hip. The fanny pack seems to be a better option if you ride drop bar bikes.

I am looking for a good way to do it.

I don't wear spandex or bike jerseys (and I'm not going to start) so the standard bike jersey pockets are out. I usually ride with elastic band athletic shorts so pretty much any kind of belt holster is out.

I don't want to mount a holster to the bike frame as I do stop and walk away from my ride a lot.

I was thinking fanny pack. On bike trails that's fairly common and wouldn't stand out.

    5-11 makes this thing https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002MTIQRG...v_ov_lig_dp_it
But with their logo emblazoned on it it kind screams "gun" to anyone who knows what 5-11 is.

Anyone use that pack? Anyone use any other packs or have other options I'm not even thinking of? I feel like your standard Wal Mart fanny pack isn't going to hold a gun tight enough. I don't really want it bouncing around in there.

I feel like for this purpose 'having access' is more important than 'quick draw'. If I'm on the bike my first instinct is going to be to pedal away from danger.
Shoulder holsters have their place, although I know that all the trendy kids turn their noses down at how guns were routinely carried in cities for the last century or two.

Especially for those of us who have eaten very well for the last few decades, shoulder holsters eliminate the problems inherent with trying to keep pants up around the bottom of a large, curved surface. And the weight is negligible unless you need to haul around a suppressed MAC-10 with a matching quad mag pouch.

To be fair my drop bar gravel bike is more because I like the aerodynamics for certain situations. And the gearing and frame design on that bike was just better suited to long distances. I usually stay more upright with my hands on the upper bars

I don't often get down in the drops unless I'm getting a great run down a big hill and want the aerodynamics. I don't know how people ride all day like that up hills and stuff.

It's awesome that there are so many riders here! Especially who understand why carrying during a ride isn't weird. I may or may not have been ejected from a bike message board for discussing self defense while biking (didn't even mention guns)

I once rode my daughter's pink 20 inch bike all around the neighborhood because she said I wouldn't.

I did enjoy that little bell. ;-)

(She doesn't challenge me to do stuff that would embarrass her anymore. hahaha)

There may even be an ex-collegiate and USCF racer on here!

Too bad he's old and fat and looks ridiculous in his old PSU jersey!

Or an old, overweight ultramarathoner, lol.

These days, my knees appreciate century rides a lot more than 100k trail races.
