I use this for day hiking and biking. I can fit a Glock 26 in it, keys, LTCF, and some cash.

On the rare occasion I see a cyclist with a fanny pack, I assume it's a gun.

Not just because of the sweat circle that forms in that area but I like to keep all weight as low on the bike as possible. More so for when I'm commuting than when I am trail riding but still

That rig looks awesome for hiking though. And it would let me bring something full sized with good weight distribution instead of an EDC sub compact. I might have to look into that for hiking purposes.

I would use the water bottle pouch for a grenade.
You can never be too safe.

Speaking of fanny packs - a search indicates that they come and go in terms of "style" and general usage.
I thought they went out of style FOREVER like 20+ years ago.

I remember buying a nice, soft leather "carry" fanny pack that has an internal holster and the zipper is designed to rip the entire front open for easy retrieval of the handgun.
I think I wore it a few times around the block walking the dog, but felt so dorky.
It's still sitting in the closet.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

I have seen a couple bikers with tacti-cool molle fanny packs with the Gadsen flag patches on rail trails. Those definitely screem "gun"

But I also see a lot of people with some generic fanny pack from Wal Mart that could have anything in there. Maybe that's what I'll do....get some hot pink Jansport bag that says "This guy hates pockets and loves the 80's" more than "gun"

The CamelBak label shouts "I got this at REI when I was shopping for soy based carbon neutral biodegradable camping supplies" which is kinda perfect! NOBODY assumes that guy is carrying a gun.

I have an alert set up for when that comes back in stock.

Get a pouch in lighter women's colors, and slap on a Hello Kitty patch.

    Not this, though:

How will you get the gun out of a zippered pouch on your back, while you're (a) moving, (b) on the ground, or (c) under attack?

I remember seeing a news article about a cyclist being attacked on an eastern PA bike trail. He shot his attacker after being knocked on his back. This is why I pocket carry.

I use a belly band holster and keep it covered by tall t-shirt/jersey. If you get all sweaty you can wash it easily in the sink.

    What is the comfort like?

I don't mind it getting sweaty and cleaning it. I do mind if it makes riding miserable because of sliding around or curling up

    Is yours comfortable?
