Ouch. I got mine when they were unobtainium. I wanted one for months and months. I was so excited when I walked into the store and saw they had five of them that I bought two. At full price.

Yeah. No doubt you wouldn't want us hearing his side of the story.

Free? Is "Unobtainium" a new radioactive element that science knows is there but they can't have it???

Boondox: I read pretty much every post in this thread and after I stopped my eyes from bleeding, I can only say that I hope you make a lot of money and have a lot of money in investments that are secure enough to afford you the ability to fritter money and time away as you will be doing by going forward with this debacle. You are truly a person who needs to make purchases in a real brick and mortar store with cash and a receipt and walk out with the item in hand. A 300 dollar debt that is going to shoot towards 1 grand and a wrecked credit score when all that was needed to be done was to pay the CC and file a police report/complaint as soon as things went south against the FFL. And remember, you chose that FFL yourself. Far simpler to just dig a hole in your yard and throw money in it, cover and seed. You dug a hole and put your head in it like an Ostrich. Best of Luck to You!

Having never had any experience with debt collection, I found this thread very educational. A lot of good minds here.

May I offer my take on who should be sued? The fucking government. When America was free, the gun would have been mailed to the buyer. It was the $%^&ing government that created the middleman situation.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

The thing that burned my butt was the FFL is still listed at a participating dealer even after they know he didn't deliver or return a pistol they sent him.

    The amount is under 600
This happened a few years ago
I bought this pistol as it was a good deal at the time with factory rebate.
I do not wish to end up having a ton of money into this pistol or having a ton of money into not having the pistol.

reducing the loss is the priority at this point in time as it was then.
Ignoring the problem for as long as you did was your second mistake...your first was not going after the FFL. I would have hounded the MF'er forever, until I got the gun.

    What were you thinking?
