I bet you all know people who will say that they are finally confident about our country's future, because of the steady hand of Joe Biden in the Oval Office. And they believe it. Like passengers on the Titanic, scared and in utter denial as the ship sinks, swearing that Captain Smith will get them all home.

Some people can read their own sockpuppet testimonials and find comfort in their success. Or the "stolen valor" guys and women, who genuinely feel pride in putting on uniforms and medals that they didn't earn; how can normal people even try to understand the kind of delusional rationalizations that it takes to make up your own story and then be proud of the lies? Like John Kerry, a success at finding eligible widows who inherited money so that he can live like a success on their dead husbands' cash, and HE THINKS HE IS a success.

I would be interested in hearing a coherent argument that a level of psychotic defensiveness and a pathological inability to admit that one might ever be in the wrong, squares with carrying a firearm to use against unprovoked attacks, much less teaching self-defense to others.

The elements for use of deadly force require the shooter to balance the various actions of the parties. You lose the right to use deadly force under a variety of circumstances, in which one would have to admit "oops, I'm in the wrong here", whether because of criminal activity or provocation or the nature of the venue, or other factors. If one is unable to admit being in the wrong, that's a ticking time bomb that could result in death and long-term incarceration.

Sometimes, the guy coming at you with a weapon can be handled using force, but not deadly force, depending on whether you screwed up somewhere. It takes an ability to rise above your own point of view and evaluate the facts and equities and laws from a 3rd party point of view.

If you believe that everybody who ever questions the edicts of you or your staff is a paid spy sent by Target World or Classic Pistol, then maybe you lack that important ability to see any facts that put you in a bad light. Just saying.
