A better question would be if the gun was logged into their evidence room on the same day it was recovered from the towing agency. How could the cop issue the owner a receipt in this case?
I understand that but this gun wasn't lost.

He was not arrested or ticketed oe anything like that. He does have a LTCF. It was in the glove box. He was supposed to go to the station this afternoon. I'll find out tomorrow.

This past Friday my co-worker got his pistol back from the police. He has to wait until Monday to get the bullets back though. He waited them out since he had other pistols and didn't want to pay a lawyer.

Sounds like the police are playing petty games. Ain't no good reason why he couldn't have been given his ammunition at the same time. They just want to make it as painful as possible, make him run back and forth just to waste his time.

They even acted surprised that he wanted the ammo back and not let them "destroy" it.

Next time he comes back to get his ammo they'll claim it was misplaced in the evidence locker.

I wonder how surprised they would be if he reloaded the pistol in their lobby since they couldn*t give him everything back in one trip?

I*d walk in after stepping in dogshit and drag it throughout their facility while retrieving the property. Might not be able to find dogshit right near their door. Better take a bag of it with you.

Cops take his Colt 1911. Cops give him back his Hi Point .380!
