Is this show usually any good? (I'm new to the area)

This show doesn't seem to get posted about in this forum despite there having been 2 shows in the last 8 months. Is it popular?

I never cared for this one , they made you empty your pockets , not even a pocket knife allowed . I remember a big cardboard box at the entrance full of knives

They don't allow knives at a gun show ... ?

    Oooookay.

I never saw a thing like that even in fascist Maryland.

Yeah but that is 2.5 hours away, making that an all day event. Harrisburg is 30 minutes meaning I'm home before lunch time.

I'll probably risk this being a good enough show for a 30 minute drive. If it sucks at least I'm not far away. I'll leave all my single blade swiss army knife at home though.....don't want anyone to think I'm going to try to start a fuss with that corkscrew attachment.

Sounds like a logical game plan but I'd recommend visiting Oaks sometime in the future so you can at least see what it's like. A full report of your findings at Harrisburg would be great.

Sounds like it's worth the drive but young kids.... hard to spend a full Saturday away from them and 2.5 hours in the car with them....not my idea of fun. Might be a couple years until I hit that one.

I'll let the world know what Harrisburg is like on Saturday

Harrisburg is usually a pretty decent show. The summer shows are a bit slow but the spring and winter shows are very good. There hasn't been a show at the Farm Show Complex in a while so most are expecting something decent if not great.

There is NO parking fee contrary to previous posting from a while back. Also, 57Springer, I don't know where you got the idea the show people make you empty your pockets and no knives allowed. This is decidedly untrue. They do safety tie firearms carried in and ask you not to carry loaded for insurance carrier clause purposes. Concealment is your friend there just as with most shows anymore.

We're going to be set-up there and looking forward to it. So will many of the usual show vendors.

Please let us know how this show is. It's advertised at 800 tables, but we all know how meaningful that is. I gave up on the MAAC shows at the Farm Show venue years ago, since $22 for parking and admission seemed a little pricey for a show with maybe 200 tables.

This is how some Maryland shows ended up being up through 2019 (I didn't go to any in 2020)

They advertised up to 800 tables....because the exhibit hall could fit 800 tables.

In reality the should could have fit in my living room.

That was mostly because Maryland did everything humanly possible to make being a vendor at a gun show more trouble than it was worth.
