well, I have been going to this show since 2000 and I have NEVER seen this practice at all. not sure where you got this idea, but it isn't true. the parking fees are no more. all you pay is entry fee...same as any other show in the area.

Oaks is usually a good show but the summer oaks show is not the best one. the "dont miss this one" show is Oaks in October.

That show had mostly hunting guides - outfitters and stuff like that.
Nothing like tables of firearms and related items.
Is this show that or is this an actual gun show like you would typically find at York , Blooms , Gettysburg , etc?
the show you are referencing is the "outdoor and Sportsmans show" in Harrisburg. that is not the same show as this one. The one coming up next weekend is an actual gun show just like York, Oaks, Gettysburg, etc.

I also call BS on the pocket check. Been going for 25+ years and never had that happen.

I've always enjoyed this show and have always come home with a lot. Like any show, some are better than others.
No, you do not have to empty your pockets - never happened. They say no guns on your person but do not check.
Parking has been free for a few years too.
People love to hate on this show but it's almost always a good one!
Of course, I'm out of State for this one - damn it!

Hopefully we'll see you at Oaks the following week?

I've gotten some decent stock from my distributors AND I've been combing other sources for one-off or out of the ordinary items. Looking forward to seeing everyone over the next few weekends at either Harrisburg, Oaks or Monroeville. Or several of them.

Ooh, I might have to swing by then. I might have a chance at a Spanish pistol or two for a change.

There is NO parking fee contrary to previous posting from a while back. Also, 57Springer, I don't know where you got the idea the show people make you empty your pockets and no knives allowed. This is decidedly untrue. They do safety tie firearms carried in and ask you not to carry loaded for insurance carrier clause purposes. Concealment is your friend there just as with most shows anymore.

We're going to be set-up there and looking forward to it. So will many of the usual show vendors.
They absolutely did this , I was there !!

57Springer, Not sure what show were at or where you got the idea the show people made patrons empty their pockets. As a couple of others have posted, and myself,
who have been going to or setting up at that show for 20+ years. We have NEVER seen the situation you described.
Either under the previous promoter MAAC or the current promoter C&E.
It would just take to long to make everyone entering the show empty their pockets.
