Re: Time to build an AR or keep waiting?
I did a handful of 18* guns. After I did a buddies 20*, it really made me want a 20*. I mean, who doesn*t like extra velocity?!
Never did do the 20*. I got a steal on his BA fluted barre and never found a comparable price again. Green Mountain has a nice 20* fluted that gets praised. It comes in and sells out fast.

Re: Time to build an AR or keep waiting?
Check out Autumn's Armory Youtuve channel.
She's like 10 years old or so
I saw a vid with her shooting a 20" A2 and was cracking up because she kept saying how that 20" has "no kick".
That and the fact that they were shooting a ballistic plate, and the 20" put holes right through it vs the 16".

Re: Time to build an AR or keep waiting?
I mentioned in another thread that I am staying with Mom & Dad right now to help with Dad's dementia. I've got most of my clothes that I have here stacked on top of the old hamper that acts as my nightstand, because the old dresser in my room is currently holding a different build in each drawer (completes are cased under the bed). It's truly amazing how much space all this crap takes up until it's installed. I just need to prepare the lowers for part installation and I can start assembling them in the living room during TV time in the evenings. The uppers are already assembled.

Decided I'm going to buy a completed upper w/20" barrel
&, since I am going to put a scope on this one, I may as well go side charging handleLast edited by PlumCrazy; July 24th, 2021 at 12:01 PM.

Re: Time to build an AR or keep waiting?
Noooooo! Don*t do it! NEVER buy complete uppers. You will be able to build better, for cheaper! No upper will have every part YOU want. Building, you can tailor to your liking. And if you don*t have the tools, there is ALWAYS someone here that can help you. I help people build them for FREE. And I*m not the only one.

Re: Time to build an AR or keep waiting?
The first AR I owned I grabbed a 20” complete upper. It’s the ONLY one I regret because I didn’t do it myself. The lower I did...., but at the time I was green on them, and didn’t have the tooling. It was a different time as well. This was right after the Clinton AWB expired. Didn’t have the endless choices of parts & information like we do now.
I’m telling ya. Don’t do it. Build your own. Save yourself the regret.Remember Biden the Pedophile! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSRqaO6DXcA
