Probation question

Is a PA individual on active probation allowed to purchase a PA hunting or fishing license? TIA.

The individual would need to look into his probation terms for possession of firearms / archery. Seems like it would be a simple question to ask their probation officer (and safer than going on internet advice).

What would be the prohibition against fishing?

Depends on the county and the individual probation officer on what they allow.

Generally throughout the state - NO GUNS, period. Even for hunting.

Some probation officers around here will allow possession of archery gear for hunting, but only for the duration of hunting.

Yes, I get the gun part, I was wondering if the state would issue the license at all. Sounds like it's very discretionary and the probation officer calls the shots. Thanks.

Yeah, there is no issue with acquiring a hunting or trapping license at all while on probation/parole. Only problem being allowed to possess the tools.
