The joys of PA!

Hello, first off just saying hi as I'm new here (to this board and to PA)

Just wanted to say how much I love living here. I got my PA driver's license last Friday. I applied for a carry permit on Saturday (of a holiday weekend) and got a text that I could come pick it up at the courthouse on Tuesday morning

Honestly I kinda thought it was a trap...like it was a lure to get me to the sheriff's office because of some outstanding warrant I didn't know about. I figured nothing could be that easy. (I'm from Maryland....so you can imagine how this experience felt weird)

But it was all legit. The sheriff at the courthouse even went on a rant about how anti 2A Maryland is and how much better life is here.

This was one of those moments where you feel totally happy with your decision to move.

You know that North Korean lady who just lit up congress for doing stuff she saw in North Korea before escaping a death camp?

Let's just say I relate to that lady.

I've already had to reach out to my new PA state rep about traffic local cops getting radar guns to say "Uh...what you are suggesting as a minimal impact is how things started in Maryland. Now they have Orwellian cameras that automatically ticket you for not stopping for a full 3 seconds before making a right turn on red."

So there will be no Maryland politics following me.

I kind like the heavy barrel. I find it less prone to over heating. Never did figure out why MD thought that makes AR's less "weapon or war-ish"

As for standard capacity mags....please.... ;-)

The Bass Pro in Harrisburg has seen my shadow more than a few times since long before I thought about moving. (Shops closer to the boarder jack up prices on anything that wasn't sold in MD)

Full cap mags are totally legal to possess in MD, just not to buy in MD

MD politicians are super persistent about hating guns and the 2A.....but they aren't terribly bright.
