    Question Bipod location

I picked up a bipod for AR build that will be a hunting piece. I want to mount the pod as forward as possible. Do I need to worry about the legs getting folded forward and being in range of the muzzle device if I were to shoot with it folded?

The last bipod I used was at Fort Leonard Wood in 1986, and we didn't carry those around.

Not looking for purchase input, just mounting. Thanks.

I've never had a problem with the one I have that has a bipod. The legs do stick out past the muzzle when folded, but other than some powder residue, it's never been an issue. Probably makes a difference what muzzle device your running though to be certain.

Can't see that being an issue. The bullet would be on its way downrange before any sort of reverberation from the bipod would affect trajectory.

If the muzzle device has baffles directing the gasses laterally, a couple of rounds should answer the question.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.
