It's an interesting idea. I like hearing how other people have done it so far.

Two pages in and I'm like "this sounds like a pain in the ass".
you have to start with the easy stuff pla plus and petg to get a feel for it then go on to the harder stuff. It's really not as bad as it sounds and to get into it at an entry level the cost is not too bad either

Finding 3d printing to be very handy. Setting up my cnc machine I needed some clamps so I found a file and printed 6 sets overnight. Had them on the machine the next day. Very useful. Today I used the cnc to mill even larger hold down clamps.

I've been designing and printing some stuff for my USPSA rig. I'm using a resin printer with Siraya Tech Fast resin. Comes out nice, though I'm still playing with the right parts orientation and supports for the best finish...

QLS Receiver adapter plate for mounting to a Safariland ELS Belt...

Rollers to convert Safariland 773 USP 9mm Mag Pouch to Mk23 Mags

    Drop plate for Mk23 Holster

9mm to 37mm snap cap converter

I've made the same parts, looks like you used PLA, they work better in PETG. PLA is a little too brittle.

Haven't tried petg yet. I will at some point. I used 75 percent infill and they held like a boss so far.

When you crank down on them, they'll eventually start to crack. PETG still has some flex in it. The only real problem with PETG is stringing, and you can eliminate it to a point with some fine tuning of the print settings. Don't ask me what they are, I just read it supposed to work, so far, nothing I really tried worked

I'm pretty sure the answer is "yes", but looking at this charging handle, is that "filler" area 3D printed?

    Reason I'm asking:
CMMG makes a polymer "22LR" charging handle that has a partially "filled in" portion to prevent empty 22 brass from bouncing up and getting stuck in the hollow area of a standard charging handle. I found this one for sale online and it was aluminum, so I thought I'd give it a try vs the polymer charging handle.
They didn't mention that it was filled via 3D printed material and likely just buy $10 charging handles and "modify" them, selling them for $20.
I don't care about the price - the polymer one is the same price and I'd rather have aluminum anyway.
Just wanted to verify that it's a 3D printed piece that is glued into the channel.

    Sure looks like it
