SBR Conversion of PPS43 C
I am looking to possibly file my form 1 to SBR my Pioneer Arms PPS43C to SBR it by making the stock functional. But before I do that, I am wondering after I receive the stamp if I can legally have a gunsmith do the work? I have the parts and thought I could do it myself but I think I would botch it up. It doesn't look that difficult, but I am wondering if a gunsmith can do the work after the stamp is received. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

It's not a hard job depending on which way yours was deactivated. All I had to do on mine was drill out the fake button, enlarge the hole and install a new button and spring. Anyone can do the work as long as you are there but if you leave it needs to stay with a SOT.

Re: SBR Conversion of PPS43 C
Any gunsmith FFL, SOT or not, can work on an SBR but plenty won’t want to hold it for whatever reason. So if you find an gunsmith FFL who will do the work then yes you can leave it with them.

Re: SBR Conversion of PPS43 C
Thanks - I'll have to search one out and discuss for sure. I'm sure I can de-activate the stock easily enough so technically it will be SBR'd already, just need to insure the new pin and spring are installed and aligned properly. Thx for your response.

Re: SBR Conversion of PPS43 C
Yes it looks easy enough after looking at You Tube videos. Mine pin is peened, so a dremel and a punch should pop the pin out. After that, I'm not so confident in my finishing work.

Go slow, be patient, and have pride in your handiwork no matter the outcome because you did it and not someone else.
