Default Refinished Nagants might not be for everyone……

**but I do not mind them.

If anyone remembers it was about a week ago that I inquired about the knot hole repair in the general firearms section.

This is a friends M44 that he wanted stripped and finished. He actually wanted to buy my rifle (which is not for sale) but I told him to just pick up a beater and keep it as is or I will be happy to do it for him. I enjoy the work and consider it practice for whatever I decide to take on next.

    Looks great, very nice work.
IMO these rifles were meant to "enjoyed", one way or another...not sitting in a box caked with Cosmoline its whole life.

    Caked is an understatement.

I'm very fortunate to have grabbed an M44 for $80 in pretty nice shape some time ago. I left the stock be. The metal is acceptable. I did spend some time on the action. Smoothed and polished any mating surfaces to beat the hard cocking and chambering they are known for. Really enjoy shooting it.

    Nice work on those rifles!
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.
