Default Hold on for Higher Road Taxes

Article in today's paper suggests that someone is looking to add a $.042/mile gas tax to cover budget deficits. If that's accurate and not a typo, it equates to about $1.26/gal. Other options like a mileage tax or pushing PSP off of the DOT budget and into the general fund.

They have corrected it, it's $.042/gal.

Plan would raise, then replace, the gas tax to fund transportation in Pa.

How are they going to tax electric vehicle owners? May have to look into a Volt or Leaf now if they don't.

Don't worry, it's in the works. As I see it we're in for a downward spiral here. They're looking to force us into public transportation, which is not self sustaining and relies on road taxes to at least some extent. So...when road taxes wane, they'll need to find another source for money to finance all the other projects. We've already started since they killed the economy for a year and are just now starting to realize the gubmental revenue loss.

We both know there's no public transportation in our area, would make it kind of hard to get around and I'm too lazy to walk. Man, those rowhomes in the NE are looking better and better. I'll just need to invest in body armor.
