How about a gun magnet? You could mount your gun on the underside of your bedframe, table or just inside of your closet.

Thanks, but I was looking for more immediate access.

A perfectly reasonable concept. However, Mom likes the house somewhat ... ummm ... sauna-like, and just turning the ceiling fan on low when the thermostat is reading 85°F sends her for the fleece blanket. I am fine with hot and humid outside, but I work from home (IT) and the combination of heat and holster is not conducive to productivity at this time.

I suppose I could break out my shoulder rig (Miami Classic II) for round-the-house wear and switch back to IWB when I dress to head out...

I didn't want biometric or batteries or anything like that.
I'm gonna give this another look. I like the concept, need to investigate the execution.

    Thanx

I bought one of these at Sam's Club on sale for $50. I just wanted something to keep 2 handguns in that would keep them away from the rugrats. Like you, I didnt want to mess with fingerprints. So far, it has done exactly what I need, but just as a fair warning, there is one major downside. If you booger up the code the first time, you might as well dig out the key, because it takes a while to reset before you can try entering the code in again.
Having to reset when I want the gun RIGHT FREAKING NOW is kind of a no go for me. Thanks, though

    Solid point.

Yeah, I'm recovering from leg surgery, so this won't work for me in the near term.

Also solid. I could probably build something like that.

    Sadly true, my good man.

Thanks for triggering some thought processes.
