That was going to be my suggestion. Sell the whole upper or barrel to someone in NJ. I had an NJ compliant AR with a bull barrel and I went through this situation. Wound up selling to my buddy which was equally beneficial to all, I was able to dump it off and he got a great rifle.

I'm not accepting work at the moment due to domestic complications-
FWIW, when and if CDI comes back to work I cut and thread AR barrels on the lathe for $80.00.Crusader's local #556 South Central Asia chapter
