Default Shooting Targets USA are excellent AR500 steel

Son was shooting a .223 bolt action at a distance of 175 yards at a 12-inch x 1/2-inch steel supposed to be of AR500.

These were not bullets containing steel. They were penetrating 3/4 depth and sticking mushroomed.

I bought him a Shooting Targets USA 10" x 1/2" with the 3" separate gong center. He hung it, shot it, and reports dust marks on them.

He's very happy. I don't know how he got ripped for the 12-incher.

P.S.- The target comes with chains.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I bought one of the "AR500" plates from walmart rated for up to .308.... and 5.56 FMJ was taking chunks out of it. Unbelievable (that I would be stupid enough to buy a steel target from Walmart, that is....).
