Default Knob Creek - End of an Era (maybe)

Rumor floating around the web for the past few days appears to be true, that Knob Creek Machine Gun Events are coming to an end this October.

Just read this online at: http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc...5/m/8270085284

"Just heard back from Knob Creek…..they said yes, this is the last year. Getting tired, older, insurance, nobody wants to work anymore. So guess it’s true."

Never made it down there myself and this last one will be crazy busy, but think I'll go down as a spectator. The videos that come out of there are just amazing. If you never heard of it, just YouTube Search "Knob Creek Machine Gun"

Now its time to reclaim all the lead and make a few billion rounds of ammo...
Thats a shame, my dealer (RIP) invited me down there to shoot his minigun, I should have gone.

They operate as a regular range and gunshop 99% of the year. I went yearly from 08-16 or 17. And you could tell things were changing then, at first there were flame throwers and shooting from choppers, then they started pushing the impact area from no shots within 50yd then 100yd and all rounds had to impact below a certain point on the hill because someone's car got hit by a ricochet. Then they started plowing the first 50+yd to reduce ricochet. It was always a good time but the spring shoots would get rained out alot. I started going to the shooters gauntlet up north but after the first year it wasn't worth the trip, there were no longer any vendors and less for spectators to do. It will be sad to see it go but with the price of parts and accessories the vendor area hasn't been the same either.

I like how you saying "my dealer" has a completely different connotation here than it would 99% of the time. Probably same amount of money spent on the addiction though...
