In ways I*d like to see someone normal that understands the Constitution run the BATF, but if some loony like Chipman gets in and pushes to hard, then maybe the SCOTUS will finally get off their asses and rule on all the BS.

Keep dreaming. You have got people who do not respect the Constitution appointing people like Chipman in the first place and that is the main problem.

The Senate judiciary committee deadlocked 11-11 on his nomination. https://www.breitbart.com/2nd-amendm...n-atf-nominee/

He hasn't had a chance to yet. Was just the Judiciary Committee.

Though Toomey did vote no on the voting fraud bill.

Just for further clarification in case people don't actually watch the videos and are misled by the titles:

The Judiciary committee vote tied 11 to 11, but Chipman's confirmation is not dead yet. It now goes to the Senate leadership and they can make a motion to hold a vote on confirmation in the full Senate.

So Chuck Schumer will likely make the motion to hold the Chipman confirmation vote in the Senate. Schumer's motion would be a procedural vote, requiring at least 50 + Kamala votes. Assuming that passes, then they will hold the actual vote to confirm Chipman which also only requires 50 + Kamala votes.

Bottom line: Don't stop fighting. This isn't over yet. Call Toomey and Casey DAILY. Call Manchin, Sinema, and Tester too. This affects us all and we need some Dems to crack and every Republican to hold the line, including the RINOs. Not good odds, but this is what we've got to work with.
