Re: Best Choice for a Stainless Steel 22LR Revolver?
May not be the most popular among those listed but I'd like to have one of these Taurus 942's in 22 mag.

S&W model 617. My forcing cone, crown and action were all just fine.

Re: Best Choice for a Stainless Steel 22LR Revolver?
I have a 942 2" 22mag and the weight and trigger are excellent for 22mag compared to my 351c (which as fantastic as light as it is, my front sight doesnt move with the 942) - also the trigger on the 351c & 351pd is the worst i have ever dealt with... ever.
I also have a 856 ultralite concealed hammer 2" snub that I had converted to 9mm and it is excellent; the stock grip had to go for 9mm and the 'normal' 856-3" black rubber grip is excellent for muzzle rise/ control.
I consider this 856 Ultralite snub converted to 9mm to be a candidate for best carry ever - I need more time/rounds through it to prove out reliability; it is only 16oz, 6shot of 9mm, with concealed hammer and runs on moonclips. It is very fast and light.
In addition to the 2" 856 UL-CH, I also have the 3-inch 856 that I also had converted to 9mm; I am debating which I like better... the snub or the 3" and which I might carry. I have no issues with accuracy with snubs, they are my preferred gun.
Taurus is now selling orange tritium dot front sights on their website for 'small frame' revolvers; I bought several and replaced the front sight on my 942 & also my 856 snub within 5 minutes and it is excellent.
I also think the way Taurus made the rear gutter sight adjustable but not protruding in any way on these revolvers is also excellent and well thought out!
I wish they had done that to their 692s - which I have in 2.5" -the size of the adj rear sight on it is monstrous and it digs into me if I carry appendix and is a snag-fest.
I think if I was able to grab a 3" or 2" snub 942 22mag in ULTRALITE, I would sell my 351c...Last edited by bugout; May 26th, 2021 at 07:56 PM.

Can't go wrong with a Ruger single action.
