Question Re: 😔 Fatal injury after gun malfunction in Lackawanna County

The other man fired, but the loading mechanism exploded, sending shrapnel into the air. Officials believe the handgun was utilizing reloaded ammunition.

    The loading mechanism exploded?

Lots of demand, new reloaders and poor quality control from new reloaders and manufactures alike currently. I've never seen so many rejects in new ammo than I have in the last year. Quality control even in new ammo is in the crapper. Let alone newbie reloaders.
    I was talking safety wise.

I like it. Mild to light medium recoil with a full house 170grn load. Had it at the last group shoot. Definitely a new deer pistol with my 2-8x Burris on top.

I say mild to light medium as per all the other retarded hand cannons I shoot.

Yep, 45/70 in a revolver will do it.

Nope don't want to shoot that.

I have fired some medium loads in a BFR. The BFR is built to tank like specs. The weight of the pistol alone soaks up much of the recoil. Shooting 405 grain cast solids in a T/C Encore with a 14 inch barrel is an experience...

If it was BFR, I'm tempted to guess they tried shooting Level 3 loads(aka, Ruger #1 loads). I'm not even sure the BFR is fully spec'd to handle even Level 2 loads(Marlin levergun loads).

Question Re: 😔 Fatal injury after gun malfunction in Lackawanna County

i wonder if the ammo and component shortage was a factor ? also if you look at the book there are three different levels of power for the 45-70 .

Assuming the reporters and officials are correct in that the ammo was reloads.
Could the person who did the reloads now be facing charges ?
