Default Any optometrists or ophthalmologists on the forum?

Many years ago, I asked my ophthalmologist about shooting glasses. He asked how far away the front sight was, I told him, and he did some mental arithmetic before writing me a new script.

Well, advancing years means new glasses and I didn't think to ask my new eye doctor when I was sitting in the chair.

So do any eyecare professionals know the arithmetic required to bring my infinity from infinity to my front sight?

Do you wear progressive or bifocal lenses?

Tbh, a mid range pair of glasses (like computer lenses) would be ideal for shooting

Quick and dirty, you can figure out a script for mid range by taking half of the power of your distance RX (+/- 0.25 sph) if you want a pair of single vision lenses or lined bifocals foe mid/close range.

If you are comfortable sharing your new script, shoot me a PM and i can work something up for you (i am/was an optician)

ANSI Z87 rated shooting glasses with "cheater/reader" lenses in a variety of dipoters, <$10 per pair so you can get a couple of strengths to try.
