Mil dot scope recommendation?
I'm looking to get a mid to high end mil dot scope.
Don't want to debate moa vs mil. I have 3 other mil dot scopes and want to keep consistent.
Half mil marks are welcomed but not required. I don't like real busy reticles with all of that ranging stuff on the lower half of the reticle.
Preferably illuminated, but i guess this isn't a deal breaker.
Adjustable objective greatly preferred.
Objective lens preferably under 44mm but definitely not greater than 50mm
FFP or SFP is okay.
Magnification 3-6x up to 12-18x.
I'm shooting targets from a stationary position. Not competing.
Price range up to 1500$.
I saw Burris's xtr ii line has some scopes that mostly (50mm objective) meet the requirements.
Leupold has some scopes vx-freedom (discontinued but still floating around) and mark 3 hd. But they don't have AO. Additionally, some of the reviews have very mixed features. Like, some claim illumination. Some claim AO. Some claim both.
Responses with links are super helpful.
I'm sure I'm probably missing some sort of relevant information.

I'm a big fan of Vortex and their lifetime warranty. You said you don't like busy reticles, but I found them to be very useful when
at the range and faced with switching ammo or ranging a longer target..

AAoptics drops refurbished units about once a month. I just helped a friend grab the above scope last month for $750.

Vortex Razors are nice. This one's close to your price range. First link is better price, second link has more info on specs. Reticle is illuminated

Re: Mil dot scope recommendation?
Both of those are a little busier than I'd prefer. I'm just not sure what to do with all of that extra stuff at the bottom.
I did see this from vortex:

I wish it was illuminated. But otherwise it looks kind of what i want. Looks to be a mid tier scope.
I'd like to get the best scope i can for my money. I'd hope that by spending more, I'll get more in terms of quality of glass, eye relief, etc.

Re: Mil dot scope recommendation?
Just as an example, My rifle was zeroed at 400yds and I switched back and forth between 600 and 400 targets, so just moved down to the 6MOA lower
crosshairs at the 600. I was given a shot at ~1100 yds target with a 10MOA cross-wind. I just moved down 26MOA and across 10MOA and rung steel..
Some people are more disciplined at resetting turrets, but I find myself turning turrets and wondering what my zero is 2 months later taking the rifle
out of the safe.. YMMV

Re: Mil dot scope recommendation?
I have a lot to learn myself but it seems to me that the complex reticle do a lot of the work for the shooter as opposed to dialing clicks. I'm a bit rusty in my research but i think if you search something like "Horus" reticle in YouTube you will probably get some great info YMMV
