    Default Question about car carry

    I have a carry permit.

Question is unique situation of carrying in a chest holster. Full concealed, on job site and in work truck, I'm literally covered and legal when I wear a zip up hoodie over it. No one can see it.

My question, it gets warm, take the jacket off. On my job site, anywhere in public, I'm legal. Open carry.

But, when I get into the work truck? Now no more legal open carry. I do have the conceal permit, but gun can be seen in the chest holster. Add in there's no "brandishing laws" here in PA ... and I'm lost. Can't make heads or tails if a visable, loaded, holstered gun in a vehicle is legal 8n PA.

I think my question is ... how "concealed" does the act of getting INTO a vehicle .... make the gun?

    Who knows what?

(I've been putting it in the glove box, which I know is legal)

If you have your ltcf you are good to go. Don*t overthink it. The ltcf allows you carry in the car concealed or unconcealed. It is not a concealed carry permit in Pa but a License to carry Firearm.

You have a PA LTCF, so you are free to carry concealed, openly, or in a vehicle... PA defines carry in a vehicle, not specifying concealed or open, as a separate issue from carry outside the vehicle. I am not a lawyer but that is my understanding. Further commentaries are likely incoming.

I'll let the experts give the legalese version, but you do not have a "concealed carry" license. You can open carry in your car or any other conveyance that requires an LTCF. Now your work truck may be a different story depending on your company, but not by PA law.

I'll agree with what others have said. There are several situations that require one to have a LTCF to be legal. Concealed carry on your person is only one of them.

"Carry in a vehicle" is another. Open or concealed is irrelevant, on your person or elsewhere in the vehicle is irrelevant.

Even if it's unloaded, there are a very few types of trips you can make without having a the "protection" of a license, such as directly to and from a range or repair shop.

You're good to go legally. Just watch out for anti gunners swatting you, if they can see it.

Unless the owner of the truck/business has a problem with it , yer good to go , open or concealed and fully loaded.

Yep, in PA you're legal but as odd as it sounds to us, you may not be in other states. My understanding is that in NY it's a license to carry concealed but not OC. IANAL.

Loaded, concealed, open, vehicle, on foot, whatever - you're good to go if you have a PA License to Carry Firearms.

    Thanks everyone.

I'm the company owner, so aside from my boss not paying me every now and then, and sleeping with my wife ... this isn't an issue he'd fire me over! I appreciate it.

I do open carry from time to time, not much worried about others opinions on any of my legal pursuits, someone don't like it, thats on them. Somedays an OWB holster just works best.

Same with the Alien Gear chest holster, btw. Fantastic to wear on the remodeling job site.
