    Thanks phill never thought to use wax paper for burnishing my projects...i’ll have to give it a try.

    Thanks for all of the suggestions.

    I'm now debating whether i should attempt the cut at all.

    The back strap (where the muzzle is) is pretty far back and cutting away for the barrel might present problems for me down the road.

    It looks like the sig p228 or Springfield xd subcompact holsters might be a good match without any need for cutting.

    However, if I were going to cut, the razor knife sounds like a great way to go. I have a few new blades.

    As for burnishing, i hadn't thought about it, but i do some woodworking. I have some carnuba wax somewhere. And i am more than capable of making a quick wooden burnishing tool.
