Default Hot brass down the shirt

It happens to all of us. It is seriously the very first thing i cover when taking new shooters to the range. It is the same lesson every time. Put the gun down and deal with the brass.

My ex dressed up to look cute at the range once. Why? I don't know. Kind of her style i guess. She at least made it look good. Hot case straight down the shirt. Burn and scar to prove it.

I took my sister to the range. She got the worst new shooter punishment. First shot from a 22 lodged a hot casing between her safety glasses and face. Solid burn there.

Tonight, took my fiancee to the range. Hot brass down the shirt. Burn and what I'm sure will be a scar to follow. She proceeded to shoot for 45 minutes after.

All three of them put the gun down safely before tending to their burning skin.

So the moral of the story is you abuse women because you won't fix your extractor.

Speaking of extractors and such... My fiancee managed to get my Ruger Mark iv to jam... Several times. I have no idea what she was doing. But she ran the new sr22 with no issues.

    Bad grip ? Most likely.

Probably. The grip is a lot larger than the sr22. I just didn't think it was possible to short stroke a mark iv with high velocity ammo.

She also managed to shoot my Beretta px4 subcompact. No issue... Other than being unable to rack the slide. No hand strength.

A brimmed hat is required range gear for me to prevent the "behind the glasses" brass. I saw someone take a piece of hot 5.56 brass to the neck. That scar isn't going anywhere. As an instructor, I sometimes need to put myself right in the line of hot brass and have taken a few down the shirt. Fun times.
