Re: Hot brass down the shirt
I was taking Noobs to the range and I was standing behind them to observe and correct any issues , My arms were crosssed over my chest, and I got a hot 5.56 brass right at the crook of my elbow. I was wearing a Tee shirt.

I’ve never let a piece of hot brass stay on my skin long enough to leave a scar.

Re: Hot brass down the shirt
I have a video of me shooting a pistol. The camera man dips the camera down and says OWW! He took a piece of hot brass, to the soft spot on his neck.

You have your own cameraman for the range?

Standard Army practice.....On the firing line collars are buttoned closed! Helmet on and since we don't wear helmets as civilians, I suggest a hat with a brim could deflect errant brass.
It is all part of personal safety. Other options include wear your shirt untucked and be sure to be wearing an undershirt.
