I think the $25 was the charge for the hand-job they gave him.

So they took $25 for doing......nothing???

Here was their response:
We are glad you've received your refund. We apologize again for the inconvenience caused to you due to delay and refund fee/deduction. The refund was minus $25 because we have to pay an employee to research the transaction, make sure it’s not been refunded, then write a check and address and add postage to the letter. Had we been able to refund your card there wouldn’t have been anything removed.
