IDPA In Cambria County
Hello Cambria County Locals and anyone nearby.
NineSeven and myself are interested in setting up a IPDA shot at the Southfork Rifle Range. This range is just outside of Beaverdale (which no one knows where that is). Lets say it is just outside of Portage, PA. About 20 minute drive from the Richland / Giestown / Johnstown Area.
If something like this would appeal to you, let us know. The more of you that are interested. The harder you will probably get us to work to try and set this up. Not putting a lot of effort if we are the only two.
Wondering what IDPA is? It stands for International Defensive Pistoal Asscoition. It is a shoot that mimics real life senerios instead of just standing and shooting bullseyes. You have to reload, move, engage targets, take cover, etc.... This is all timed and then your score added in. The IDPA only allows realistic defensive use type of gear. Stuff you would really carry on the street. No trick holsters or tricked out pistols. They are trying to keep it realistic. Need more info? Check out www.IDPA.com for rules and more info on this sport. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....

Re: IDPA In Cambria County
I moved this thread to the general "Laurel Highlands Region" forum which covers all counties in the area. For future reference threads can be posted to the Region-level forums.
I also deleted the duplicates in each county sub-forum just so we don't end up with disjointed discussions.Dan P, Founder & President, Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association

Re: IDPA In Cambria County
Was wondering if I could do that. Would have saved me some cutting and pasting. I was concerned about duplicating the same thing over and over. But I wanted to reach those that might be interested. Thanks for the help.

Re: IDPA In Cambria County
I'd be willing to come up and compete if not in conflict with any other IDPA matches I attend.

Got two seperate threads on this going. So, I will be using the one listed IDPA at Southfork Rifle Range. It has more hits on it.
