Sunday hunting will help kill the boredom during bear season. Maybe this year, fingers crossed!

I'm not a fan of these two week rifle doe season. They kill way too many on game lands. I think right now the population is decent. It will be ugly in two years.

I didn*t watch the video but read somewhere else the game commission was going to reduce the number of doe tags because of the increased season to try and keep harvest number constant. Who knows if they*ll get it right.

They didn't lower the doe tags very much at all. The numbers were mentioned on WJAC TV but it was only like 10k or less but don't quote me on that number. It just wasn't a very significant drop in antlerless tags. Once again, just as I was seeing a resurgence of does and deer in general in the Bald Eagle State Forest, it will be another meat feast again. Great for some but bad overall for everyone after a few years. (plus predator loss and Chronic Wasting Disease). Maybe I'm a Fudd but I enjoy seeing deer on public land when I'm hunting or just hiking the trails year round.

No rifle in fall turkey season.
"Commissioners also made what they called a *difficult* vote to ban the use of rifles for fall turkey hunting, citing a declining turkey population."

I am ambivalent about hunting on Sundays but had to comment on this:

Why should non-hunters be considered in any decision relating to SGLs? That land is/was bought by/for hunters.

If you had said State Forests, I would have grudgingly conceded to your view.

I agree with this. I have to be honest though. Any of the SGL or even state forests that I hunt have little to zero "other" activity on them at least when I am there. (late summer through January)

You're correct, my mistake. Game land does mean 'game land.' You've changed my opinion on that. I live near Blue Marsh, a large tract of Army Corps of Engineers land adjacent to PA state game lands. Hunting on both and the borders are 'blurred' for sure.

At the other end of the spectrum, I started hunting SGL145 near Mt. Gretna last season. That place gets a lot of joggers, hikers, berry pickers, mountain bikers, etc.
