Started building my first AR15
After buying 2 Aero Precision lowers in late 2019, along with Luth AR lower parts kit, and an Sba3 pistol brace I decided to put one together. I started by looking at this website for instructions:. https://www.arbuildjunkie.com/assemb...ower-receiver/
After we put the boys up for nap, I headed down into the basement, cleared off my reloading/work bench. Gathered all the parts and tools I needed and began assembly. I got the Mag catch on, the front pivot pin, spring, and detent in (on the first try) and the bolt catch, spring and plunger in. All without boogering up anything or losing any parts. By then the kids were awake and I had to put it aside. All in, maybe 1 hr so far. Got to hand it to Luth AR. Their kit is blister packed with each piece having it's own spot and numbered with the names of all the components. Seems pretty easy so far. I'll post again as I progress.

Congrats! And welcome to the addiction.
Bolt catch roll pin has always been my downfall. Can't put one together without marring my lower (even just the slightest).

Re: Started building my first AR15
Thanks, I'm feeling good so far about it. And I'm pretty confident in my assembly skills. There might be a slight blemish at bolt catch pin hole, but not anything like some of the bubba pics I've seen and no bare metal. I did use roll pin punches (something I would have appreciated in my R/C car days) and they helped to easily get those pins started. Although a longer punch would have made the bolt catch pin easier to put in. Like the website described, I covered everything in 2 layers of blue painter's tape to protect from damage when doing the bolt catch. I put some oil on every pin before attempting to drive them in. Also, I forgot that i got the trigger guard in too But might change it out to a glove friendly one instead of the straight one that came with the LPK.
