Default Philadelphia's District Attorney race - Vega unseating Krasner

Democratic candidate for district attorney Carlos Vega says a “lack of consequence” is driving up the city’s violence and crime.

Vega stood at the intersection of Kensington and East Allegheny avenues on Thursday, a neighborhood at the center of the city’s opioid epidemic. Vega said District Attorney Larry Krasner, the Democratic incumbent, was failing to prosecute crimes and leading an ineffective office.

“When there’s a crime done, there has to be a consequence,” Vega said. “And when there are no consequences, we have this [Kensington] neighborhood.”

Krasner will face Vega in the May 18 Democratic primary. The Philadelphia Democratic City Committee’s executive board decided last week to back neither Krasner nor Vega, giving leeway to the city’s Democratic ward leaders to support the candidate of their choice.

When Philadelphia's Democratic machine snubs Krasner, that's all you need to know.

This is the population's best chance to drive the scumbag out of office.

    1) If you're not in Philadelphia County, you can donate.

    2) If you are in Philadelphia County, the primary is in May. Make your vote count.

    3) If you're a Republican in Philadelphia County, you can change your party membership - vote - and then change back to R.

With the Democratic primary for district attorney in Philadelphia four weeks away, critics of both candidates are stepping up attacks.
More than 150 former assistant district attorneys signed a letter this week calling for the ouster of District Attorney Larry Krasner and asking voters to back his challenger, former homicide prosecutor Carlos Vega.
The anti-Krasner letter from 153 former prosecutors, some with experience in the District Attorney*s Office dating to the 1970s, said they are *not defined by any political ideology but by a desire to see a better, fairer, safer city, and we hope you agree that it is time for a change.*

I am done going to Philly.

Krasner's constituents can have it, for all I care. As long as they are committing crimes in Philly, they aren't kicking down my door.

The Rittenhouse Square elites that funded Krasner can suck on the egg they hatched.

    Can you smell their fear?

Philly DA Larry Krasner is fighting for his political life

Ahead of a competitive Democratic primary that*s coming amid an ongoing gun violence surge, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner finds himself in a bind. His base expects him to hold the line on promises to radically reform the local criminal justice system. But his political position seems to erode with each gunshot victim * making those promises harder to keep.
