    Thumbs down Self-exclusion HB 1077

Here's an opportunity for the "flagellentes" to self abuse themselves of their right to possess firearms.
    Regular Session 2021-2022
    House Bill 1077
Short Title: An Act amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and other dangerous articles, further providing for definitions, for sale or transfer of firearms and for Pennsylvania State Police and providing for self-exclusion from purchasing a firearm.
    Prime Sponsor: Representative PARKER
Last Action: Referred to JUDICIARY, April 1, 2021 [House]
Memo: Voluntary No Firearm Purchase List

What*s the point? Maybe if you feel like you are a danger you can put yourself on the list so that you aren*t tempted to buy and do something in the future?

One of my theories is that a lot of antis are angry people with violent thoughts and that they assume everyone else thinks the same way which is why they don*t want others to own guns. Maybe it is for them?

Don’t underestimate the Woketopians. This could go the way of the vaccine passport, with a multi million dollar ad campaign, and public shaming for those who “DONT CARE ABOUT VICTIMS” enough to sign themselves up.

5 years down the line, you have to show your Firearm Self-Exclusion card in order to vote, and those who don’t sign up are immediately considered potential mass shooters and are subject to surveillance and investigation

    Papers please

In his memo the sponsor claims this is to benefit those suffering a mental illness and allowing them to volunteer NOT to be a threat to self or others. The sponsor is also unfamiliar with ATF 4473 question 21f and its explanation "Question 21.f. Adjudicated as a Mental Defective: A determination by a court, *yes* to this question. This may include a qualifying offense that was referred to a board, commission, or other lawful authority that a person as a result of marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease." He is also unaware of PA's requirement that mental health professionals provide warning to family and authorities if they believe a patient is a threat to self or others. See https://www.ncsl.org/research/health...y-to-warn.aspx for a list of states with similar requirements.

Right, because the only way to obtain a firearm is through an FFL transfer.

How many would be misled to fill out the disqualification form in a time of crisis? Just sign here.

Based on a gambling law where you do the same. Just as useless.
    https://responsibleplay.pa.gov/self-exclusion/

Self-exclusion allows a person to request to be excluded from legalized gaming activities within a casino and offsite venues, online, at VGT establishments or on fantasy contests. Individuals who enroll in self-exclusion are prohibited from collecting any winnings, recovering any losses or accepting complimentary gifts or services or any other thing of value from a licensee or operator.

    C'mon, Man...at least he's trying.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I'm betting it will be used as a bargaining chip for people subject to other civil or criminal proceedings that wouldn't otherwise be prohibiting.

"Oh, you want to be able to see your kids? Have you put yourself on the voluntary self-exclusion list? No? I'm afraid we can't allow you to visit them anymore."

I know I always feel morally superior when somebody offs themselves by ODing or hanging instead of using a gun.

Ultimate plan is a backdoor way to figure out who all the gun owners are, by having all the NON GUN OWNERS DECLARE THEMSELVES AS SUCH.
