Default Galil Parts Kit from Numrich any experience?

    Hi all,

I recently saw a parts kit for a Galil .223 on Numrich. I have absolutely no experience with these so I was wondering if anybody had any experience or feedback on the kits. I thought it might be a fun project to get into, but I was hoping someone had feedback.

    Thanks!

Gonna be a long wait or a stroke of luck to find a barrel or receiver, then track down someone competent to build it...but they're a lot of fun. I've shot a fellow forum member 13.5" sbr and it's pretty heckin nice.

If you get the Galil SAR kit from RTG parts they are super clean receiver torch cuts. The receivers are easy to re-weld using a TIG welder.

Right now barrels are impossible to find but are in the works. They will be back.

    Thanks!

Yeah, it looks like barrels are hard to find for the Galils. I was a bit confused on the cut receivers and barrels. Are they supposed to be assembled or are they cut for import restrictions?

They are torch cut in specific ways so it is no longer considered a firearm by the ATF and can be imported as a pile of parts.

If you do a re-weld instead of buying a new receiver you will have to modify the repaired machine gun receiver to only work as a semi auto.

Some people also worry about the US part count.

Head over to the weapons guild forum to find step by step how-to’s.

Here is a video showing how they cut up perfectly good guns to import.

Woah, I never knew about this. That really stinks they have to destroy pieces of history like that.
