Analogy: Why have state inspection requirements for vehicles?

To prevent a fucking irresponsible idiot with BALD TIRES from sharing my road and endangering my family and I with his sorry assed vehicle that is not properly maintained.

Do more restrictions on our God Given Rights bother you? Get your shit together or kiss Freedom good-bye.This is all sick.

When things don't make sense, look for the money, look for who gains ground, and look to where it is leading.

We are living in an era of inexcusable distortions, but they are planned, not accidental accumulations.

Tires can go from a passing 2/32 to bald in less than a year and bad drivers are always out there.

Doesnt seem to be a problem in states not charging that TAX.

What's that line about dangerous freedom and peaceful slavery again?

You missed the forest for the trees...

...there are IDIOTS out there who would NEVER maintain their vehicles if you let them. Pick whatever part of the vehicle you want, tires, brakes, etc.

I don*t want IDIOTS like that permitted to share my road.

Last I knew (many years ago) studies showed little to no correlation of accidents caused by uninspected vehicles. I saw a front wheel hub fail and the wheel fall off of inspected and maintained vehicle.

    Sometimes pars fail without warning.

Of course it’s always the fault of the last mechanic who worked on it.

Sheriff's BY LAW must issue a LTCF within 45 days of application or renewal.
    Issuance of license.--

6106. Firearms not to be carried without a license.

    (1) A license to carry a firearm shall be for the purpose of carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle and shall be issued if, after an investigation not to exceed 45 days, it appears that the applicant is an individual concerning whom no good cause exists to deny the license.
    They don't.

Sheriff's must notify a license holder 60 days before their license expires.

    (2) At least 60 days prior to the expiration of each license, the issuing sheriff shall send to the licensee an application for renewal of license. Failure to receive a renewal application shall not relieve a licensee from the responsibility to renew the license.
    They don't.

I have bad news and worse news.

The bad: Laws only punish people for things like not maintaining or inspecting their cars. They don*t prevent it.

The worse: idiots seem to be multiplying like rabbits.
