hand gun registration

hi i have a real quick question about registration me and my friend keep fighting about. do you have to have a hand gun registered in this state thank you

no, you do not.

if you buy a handgun, it has to be done through an FFL, and, the info gets entered into the PSP sales database which is used like a registry.

however, if you move here from out of state and alreay own handguns, or if you inherit one from your parents, etc. you do not have to register it.

There is no registration of any gun in PA. There is no waiting period for a handgun as there used to be (due to the instant background check system now in place). When you buy (or transfer) a handgun through a FFL it is placed into a record of sale database. This database is not supposed to be used as a registry but we know that it very well might be. Handguns can also be transferred through a sheriffs dept (by law, but you won't find many that will do this) and they have to do the same paperwork as a FFL.
