Default Ooops... got cited for first time

First of all: I am one of millions new to the 2A community. So, still learning a lot everyday.

Was at one of State Game Ranges to train and further familiarize myself with tools. Quite immerse in the process when Ranger approached and asked for my driver's license. Took my license and said he is going to cite me for uncontrolled property: shooting more than six (6) rounds. I was aware of the rule, and it just slipped by me...

Has anyone had any experiences like this? Any insight is much appreciated!

That sucks. Never even seen a ranger at my gamelands range, but I've only been there a few times

Stupid rule, but is what it is.

    Welcome by the way.

If you like shooting enough, you may want to consider joining a private gun range. They are a good place to learn and meet others. Most gun ranges are generally more lax when it comes to the number of rounds you can have in a gun or magazine. I belong to a private club that I like a lot and never want to go back to shooting at State Game Lands for a variety of reasons.

I don*t know anything about this club and there is a waiting list, but Lower Providence Rod and Gun might be relatively close to where you live and worth looking into.

Wow, shooting more than 6 rounds? That's a ridiculous rule. At my local game lands range they will ticket people for shooting the target holders on purpose or bringing TV's to shoot at.
But it's 2021, most people don't have 6 shot revolvers.

Over 20yrs ago , I got a warning because I was shooting 5 shot groups from a revolver.

As far as I was told , you may only load a pistol with more than 3 rounds at a designated HANDGUN range. The 25yd side range does not count.

Haven*t been to a SGL range in forever...

...but, a decade or so ago, Rangers used to park at SGL 43 in unmarked vehicles waiting for shooters to break the mag limit rule. Then, go and issue citations - collect revenue for the state.

Six rounds per per minute? hour? day? Per week? Per month? What?

PA is even dumber than many realize.
