Why do I have the feeling this is due to the ONE idiot that shot himself at the polls in november, and that they are using that as an Itoldyouso excuse to push thru more asinine gun control?

To what end? There have been a handful of similar confrontations poster here since by the involved parties, though none "developing" to the extent my experience did, as far as I know.

IMO, new/current confrontations are more easily discovered and read unattached from that extremely long saga.
