There was a local election race in MONTCO about 20 years ago where a challenger ran a major, fallacious smear campaign, which proved to be unsuccessful. For some reason I thought that that guy's smear campaign precipitated new legislation making intentional slander during an election campaign a punishable crime. I know, I know, don't get my hopes up but does anyone else have any such recollection? Or knowledge on the issue?

I*ve been trying to figure out why they keep saying Barnette is not electable. Are they concerned because of her skin color? Parts of Pa do have a strong reputation of being anti black. Those parts would be needed to get a candidate elected in November and normally vote republican if you look at the voting maps. Are Trump, Hannity and others concerned that people in those areas would stay home giving Fetterman an easy win in their eyes but don*t want to say it out loud?
