Default PA's US Senate Seat Election 2022

Pat Toomey is going to do us a favor and vacate his US Senate seat next round and candidates for the position are starting to announce. I don't remember who has tossed their hats into the ring thus far but a new one showed up in today's paper by the name of Everett Stern.

Here's his claim that would be of great interest to all of us.

The 2nd Amendment. It is one of the bedrock foundations of American life. The right to defend yourself, your home and your loved ones is nothing short of sacred.

American gun owners have been vilified for too long. The sacred right to keep and bear arms is under assault from leftist intellectuals who consider their Socialist agenda more important than your family’s safety.

When I’m in the U.S. Senate, there will be no one who will more fiercely defend the 2nd Amendment and no one who will stand stronger for Pennsylvania’s responsible gun owners.

One statement does not make him pro 2nd. We need to know more about him and I hope the Republican Party does wait till the last damn minute to give us a candidate.

My bet is the Dems will manufacture enough Philly and Pittsburgh votes to make the name and platform of the GOP candidate, irrelevant.

I predict GOP no longer wins PA statewide elections.

Hope you're wrong but I know my ONE, REAL vote will go to someone who supports individual liberties...

The Dems won't cheat and steal votes.

It looks like we have a few good candidates. I took a look at his background but his name is familiar somehow, where did I hear it before?

I'll carefully assess all the primary candidates, and hope to avoid another Toomey-esque RINO / waffler.

OTOH, "able to win" is a big factor for me too. I'd rather a pretty-good candidate that can win than a great candidate who will lose. A black woman may trump (no pun intended) any white male candidate on that basis. I'll probably take some isht for saying it, but I might consider voting for her in the primary even if she's not the absolute-strongest 2A candidate (will NOT vote for her if she's actually waffly, though - first time the phrase 'common sense' drops from her lips re: guns, I'm out.)

If the candidate is not "electable" in a statewide race its irrelevant.

Kathy Barnett is my choice at this point in time.
