Default Finally got my M1 Carbine

One of the last pieces needed for my WW2 Rifle collection. It’s an IBM serial 3,84x,xxx barrel ,receiver mags and stock all have IBM proofs. The rest who knows . It’s got the rotary safety , adjustable sights and the bayonet lug ( I know these are late war or after war add on’s ) but I really wanted an IBM and the price was right . It’s now sitting in my display cabinet next to its big step brother my Springfield Garand.

    Pics forthcoming ...

Top - STD Products 1960's DCM purchase

Bottom - Inland 1990's CMP Greek return

Both went thru post-war rebuild at STD Products.

One of the most enjoyable guns ever produced. Congrats and many happy hours with it.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Next to the Garand this is turning out to be one of my favorites ...I can see why the GI’s loved it so much .

Very nice, I started with 1 which multiplied over the years. A few years back I took my neighbor out to the range with the Garand, M1 Carbine, and 1911 to celebrate his 93rd birthday. He was a retired US Army Sergeant and served in the Pacific theater, most of his time was spent in supply and motor pool. He may have had a cane to help him get around but he handled all of them like he was in his 20s again. Good times.
