without a specific and expensive license to do so
Nope. Only the privileged, politically connected.

A few years ago, a US Army soldier got reassigned and was moving into NJ in his motor home. It was packed with all his belongings, including some guns. He got boarded by police, guns were seized, I think he was arrested. Don't know what became of that, but it was so typical of PRNJ.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Basically all normal rules apply here then: shut up, Decline any requests for searches without a warrant, lawyer up, and oh yeah, keep your damn mouth shut.

Did I say shut the hell up and don’t talk to to the traffic cops?

My main concern is with the long guns really, as I can plan my route to allow me to go thru states that honor my LTCF

Hopefully gunlawyer or Sig4Life can kick in and speak on this from a legal perspective. The only states I*m concerned about are Illinois and Indiana
I've seen our 2 resident Attorneys disagree vehemently on issues and if that weren't enough - I'm betting you couldn't get the 9 Supreme Court Justices to agree on an answer for you.

I think you've received pretty solid info and outside of calling the AG for each state in question, the "handgunlaw.us" is probably solid enough.
