    Bonus related youthful thuggery

Action News has learned the SUV used by the shooting suspects had been stolen prior to the crime. A source also confirmed that when police recovered the vehicle, at least one shell casing was also recovered.
Three victims were taken to local hospitals in stable condition: a 17-year-old male shot in the right arm and leg; a 14-year-old male shot in the left thigh; and a 15-year-old male struck in the left leg. // Sources confirm to Action News the 15-year-old victim was shot last year while attempting to carjack a ride share driver on North 7th Street. The driver, who had a permit to carry, shot the teenager and prevented the carjacking.

Carjackings at Philadelphia gas stations have increased by more than 300% this year compared to 2021, according to a report.

"You got to arm yourself. It's dangerous out here. It's wild," Philadelphia resident Melvin Dunn told WPVI.

There have been 30 armed carjackings at Philadelphia gas stations as of mid-November compared to seven in 2021, according to the news outlet. That marks a nearly 330% increase of such incidents.

MP5s aren't going to cut it anymore. AR-15 or AK pistols.

A 23-year-old woman with a concealed-carry permit defended herself against four armed men who attempted to carjack her last week on the South Side of Chicago. The woman, who remains unidentified, was sitting in her car in the Calumet Heights neighborhood just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday near 89th Street and Kenwood Avenue when four men spilled out of a black sedan, according to a local CBS affiliate. When one of the men attempted to open her car door while holding a gun, the woman shot the would-be carjacker in the head before running away from the car. One of the other men reportedly shot her in the left arm, and she was later taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in fair condition.
